Meals on Wheels
New Hope Friends Church began a Meals on Wheels route through WAGES. This ministry provides nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and persons with disabilities in the Elroy community near our church. The Meals on Wheels program in Wayne County prepares the meals Monday thru Friday. Faithful volunteers pick up the meals from the WAGES building in town and drive on their appointed routes each day. The Elroy route, working out of New Hope, delivers meals to approximately 10 to 12 homes. These meals are provided in an effort to improve health and reduce isolation. These meals are often able to help individuals remain independent and avoid institutionalization. If you would like to help with this ministry contact the church office for more information. The Elroy route is currently under the direction of Bobby Trivette.

Share your blessings of food such as canned meats, fruits, vegetables, soups, peanut butter, rice, cereal, and other non-perishables with those going through difficult times by bringing food to the church on the first Sunday morning of each month. These items are carried to the center at 119 West Walnut Street for distribution. Volunteers working at the center then screen each applicant to verify needs before assisting.
At New Hope Friends Church, we have support United Church Ministries through donation and through a yearly food drive held in November called Fill the Trucks.
