New Here?

What to Expect When You Visit.

If you’re new to New Hope, the following information will be helpful in giving you a “feel” for what our Sunday mornings are like as well as some other frequently asked questions.

What time do things start on Sunday morning?

Several Hope Groups meet on Sunday mornings before worship. Click Here for more information.

Worship Service begins at 10:30 am.

What happens during the Worship Service?

In our Sunday gathering, we worship through music lead by our choir and worship singers. We also enjoy a challenging and uplifting sermon preached from God’s Word. We worship by giving, praying, and through Open Worship.

What is Open Worship?

In the tradition of Friends, who would use their entire worship service to sit in silence before God, New Hope designates a time in our service to honor this tradition. For us, Open Worship is a special time of prayer in the worship service. It is a time of silent waiting before God, allowing the Holy Spirit to admonish, teach, and move us. As the Holy Spirit speaks, we also speak, sharing prayer requests, testimony, and praise. Typically, this time will last anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes as the Spirit moves.

What can I expect when I walk in the Church?

You can expect friendly faces who will greet you at the door. Our ushers will hand you a bulletin, which includes an order of service and announcements for upcoming events.  You can expect to be welcomed by smiling faces who are willing to direct you to anything that you might need. If you are visiting for the first time, please stop by our welcome center to receive a gift after filling out a connect card.

What do I wear?

Most people dress casually and comfortably. We have people who wear shorts and t-shirts, others who wear jeans and a polo, and others still who will wear a suit and tie or a dress. There is no dress code, and we want each person to feel comfortable in what they have on.

Where do I park and enter?

We have a parking on the sides and back of our building. Our sanctuary is in the building with the columns out front nearest highway 70. Most people park in the grass in front of the sanctuary or in the spots beside the driveway and enter through the front double doors of the sanctuary. We have a handicap accessible entrance on the side of the sanctuary. If you have children under 6, it is best to park in the back and enter under the portico to drop children off in our nursery or preschool church. You may also want to enter through the doors marked “office.” Doors are locked at the beginning of service for the safety of all attending our services but the front double doors are maintained by our ushers. If you have any questions or concerns about where to park, please reach out to us for more information.

Where do my children go during the Worship Service?

We welcome children to be a part of our worship service, no matter their age. We do offer a nursery for children ages 0-4 and Junior Church for children ages 5-10. We also offer a parent’s room, located just out of the sanctuary.

Our Nursery meets in the Family Life Center. Children can be dropped off as early as 10:15 AM. Junior Church begins in the service and is dismissed to their age appropriate lesson before the sermon. All children should be checked in at our check-in station located in the hallway of the Family Life Center. For newcomers, our connect team will assist you to our check-in station and to the area appropriate for your child.
